Expected outcome and impact of results: 1) Validate a widely used cognitive screening tool for cross-cultural application among older adults of racial/ethnic minority groups 2) Improve the accuracy of detecting cognitive impairment among racial/ethnic minority older adults 3) Improve the likelihood of racial/ethnic minority older adults who have been screened positive for cognitive impairment to access further neuropsychological evaluation. 2) Research objectives: To determine the measurement equivalence of the MoCA test across racial/ethnic groups of older adults, this study will focus on identifying if there is any race/ethnicity related or sociodemographic characteristics item bias by using Confirmatory Factory Analysis and Item Response Theory to detect differential item functioning.
